Dr. Xavier Amador Speaks Out Against Clozapine REMS

Dr. Xavier Amador, a renowned clinical psychologist and author of I’m Not Sick, I Don’t Need Help!, has extensively studied anosognosia, a condition where individuals are unaware of their own mental illness. This lack of insight is common in disorders like schizophrenia, making treatment challenging. However, many parents and caregivers, including those of us at The Angry Moms, have observed that clozapine, a medication for treatment-resistant schizophrenia, often restores this vital self-awareness in our loved ones. This return of insight not only aids in acknowledging the illness but also enhances treatment adherence, highlighting clozapine’s life-saving potential. This is one of the many reasons clozapine has the highest patient adherence rates among all antipsychotics.

On February 5th 2025, The Treatment Advocacy Center’s Research Weekly published Dr. Amador’s commentary on “The Problem with Clozapine REMS,” which delves into the barriers posed by current regulations, which hinder access to this life-changing medication.

My dear friends - we must consider filing a class action lawsuit against the FDA if they do not comply with their own board's recommendation to eliminate clozapine REMS egregious mandates. I have contacted an attorney known as the "FDA Dragonslayer" because he has sued the FDA numerous times and has won. I am willing to pay my fair share to hire this attorney to sue the FDA to stop their sick control of not dispensing clozapine without blood testing. My son and I have been doing this for over 13 years! I have no personal life because of the FDA! I sent an appeal letter to the attorney asking him to help us clozapine patient caregivers in any way…
